Semone + Iroy
Semone and Iroy envisioned a black-tie affair for their wedding day, and what unfolded was nothing short of breathtaking. From the timeless ceremony to the glamorous reception, every detail spoke of elegance, love, and celebration on the beautiful island of Antigua.
The bride, radiant and refined, turned heads as she stepped out in her ruffled, off-the-shoulder wedding gown. Her look was perfected with natural glam and a simple updo by hairstylist and makeup artist Staci of Staci Hair and Makeup. Known for her attention to detail, Semone completed her bridal ensemble with the Jimmy Choo Saeda 100 Ivory Satin Pumps crystal-embellished heels that shimmered with every step down the aisle, setting the tone for a day of pure sophistication. She wanted a bridal style that was edgy yet understated, and she carried it with effortless grace.
During our bridal consultation, I suggested a mini shoot in a dramatic robe; something with feathers, lace, and pearls. When the moment arrived, Semone exceeded every expectation. She surprised me with a look that combined lace, feathers, and sparkling diamonds. The result was breathtaking: she radiated confidence, femininity, and strength. In that moment, she was not just a beautiful bride but a woman ready to step boldly into a new chapter as a wife.
Iroy matched her energy with equal flair. Dressed in an ivory and black tuxedo paired with iconic red-bottom shoes, he was the perfect balance of charm and elegance. His polished style and easygoing spirit made capturing his groom’s portraits one of the most enjoyable shoots to date. Together, Semone and Iroy embodied the essence of modern elegance.
The celebration reflected both tradition and luxury. The couple exchanged vows in a charming church on the north side of Antigua, honoring their roots before moving to Hodges Bay Resort & Spa, a celeb-favorite, for their reception. The venue’s chic and artsy atmosphere was the perfect canvas for their vision of a refined, stylish wedding. Tables were dressed in crisp white linens and adorned with centerpieces of lush white hydrangeas, ivory roses, and fresh greenery by Flowers 4 You Antigua. The soft, romantic tones created a serene contrast against the vibrant Caribbean backdrop, elevating the refined black-tie atmosphere.
As the couple entered their reception space, a live ballerina gracefully escorted them to their head table; for you to further imagine the evening’s elegance. Guests enjoyed heartfelt speeches, a delectable meal, and a lively dance floor that carried the celebration late into the night. In thoughtful detail, the couple provided dancing shoes and even a coffee station, an unexpected but brilliant touch that kept everyone energized and on the dance floor.
Just when it seemed the evening couldn’t get more magical, Semone and Iroy shared their first dance as floor sparklers lit up around them, igniting the dance floor in a dazzling display. They danced to “Next to Me” by Popcaan and Toni-Ann Singh—a choice that brought some Caribbean sultry vibes before the music seamlessly transitioned into Aerosmith’s “I don't want to miss a thing”, wrapping the dance in romance.
The night then closed with a breathtaking finale. Fireworks lit up the Antiguan sky, bursting above the resort’s iconic Boonji Spaceman, a 22-foot sculpture by artist Brendan Murphy. The vibrant colors illuminated the night, a stunning reflection of Semone and Iroy’s passion and love story. Semone and Iroy’s black-tie celebration wasn’t just a wedding, it was an experience.
